Sweater Weather

Hey loves, I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! I am so blessed and thankful to have all my family here with me and was able to spend the day with them. I love Thanksgiving,  the food is great of course but most importantly spending time with loved ones. I am making a conscious decision to live a life of gratitude, meaning thanking God everyday for everything and to never forget what He has done for me.

Well it's officially sweater weather here in Florida and I am here for it! It's still sunny here but it is getting to the low 60s at night time and I am loving it. I have purchasedjust a few sweaters, like five or so (hehe) and I can't wait to wear them all, weather permitting.

This one is from Forever 21. I love off the shoulder tops, the exposed shoulder is classy especially when it's only one sided. Oversized sweaters look great on all body types and styled with a skinny jean creates the perfect balanced look.  The lantern sleeve is trending this Fall, I saw some styles at Zara and was so happy to see some at Forever 21 for a more
affordable price.

But the showatopper of this look are these nude patent leather booties! I saw these on Shoe Dazzle and had to get them. They are the perfect heel height and are so sexy, yet comfortable. They were $9.99! (If it's your first purchase) or $39.95. I love bargain shopping! Will be bringing new Fall looks and yes I will have a sewing DIY soon!

Red, White & Blue

Happy Memorial Day!

This day is set aside not just to go to the beach and BBQ, but to remember all who have given their lives fighting for freedom. Though observed only in America I remember every person who has ever fought no matter their nationality. Being Nigerian and Jamaica but raised in America, I have a lot to celebrate. I always loved using my style to identify with everything that makes me..me! Although some may say wearing red, white and blue can be cheesy during patriotic holidays there is always a way to upgrade an outfit to be more stylish! So for all the patriotic holidays here is some style inspiration!

Style a midi dress with a denim chambray shirt and slides for an effortless chic look.

I added a pop of color with a red head wrap using Ankara fabric my father sent me from Nigeria and a red lip.

I finished off the look with a blue and white nautical cross-body and a denim choker.

Midi Dress: Ross

Chambray shirt: Ross

Slides: SoleMates (by way of Style Encore)

Head wrap: DIY

Choker: DIY

Sunglasses: Amazon

DIY Pom Pom Shoes!

DIY POM POM SHOES!

Revamp your shoes to this hot summer style!

Hey Loves!

You all know how much I love new trends! This summer you are going to be seeing a lot of bright and colorful clothes and accessories like the pom pom shoes! These cute little pom POM's can be seen on heels, sandals, shirts, bags, etc and add some cute colorfullness to any outfit to make it pop. Seeing these shoes made me want to DIY them and also do a shoe revamp!

I had some old heels that needed some TLC, so I stopped by my local craft store and picked up some pom poms for less than $5.00 and some suede string because I wanted pom pom tassles which is totally optional. Have fun with this and do whatever your heart desires!

Here is the tutorial!

EMBROIDERED

Hey Loves!

What is trending is my favorite topic to blog about and this Spring one of my favorite trends is the embroidered look! I specifically remember some embroidered overalls I use to rock back in elementary school LOL and it's back!

This look can be found in most stores now and since it is a statement piece you can dress down the rest of your look. I also love stripes so this top is perfect. The colorful floral print gives it a fun and flirty look and this top is also very comfortable and breathable for the Spring time weather.

I styled the top with white jeggings and since it is festival season I added a tan fringe cross-body bag and tan boho flats to finish the look. This look  is so perfect to spring. Check out the links below for this look.

SPRING 2017 FASHION HAUL

Spring has arrived and so has all the spring trends! This spring I am really diving into color and refuse to buy any black, gray or anything dark! My birthday  just passed  on April 18th and I feel colorful and happy inside thanks to Jesus of course and the song "Coloring This Life' by Vybz Cartel (My favorite song at the moment). Being happy is a state of mind and though I have been criticized for my overall cheerful disposition (I know right?!) as I embark on 29 years of  life I am so appreciative of being just Happy and not hiding it because a lot of people are not. I love to show how I feel with my style and have picked up a few item in the past few months and of course I did a haul + try on to show all of you!

DIY Velvet Slip Dress with Scarf Tutorial

Happy Spring!

It's almost Spring and yes it's my favorite time of year! Especially Spring style! The Spring 2017 Style trends, which I will share a video soon about are all about colors and patterns and a trend that has spilled over from Winter is the slip dress! I am loving the slip dress because at first it was just seen as lingerie, but it has now evolved! You can wear a slip dress alone, with a shirt underneath or a leather jacket. Long or short, velvet or satin the slip dress can be dressed up or down. I am especially loving the crushed velvet slip dress. I found some beautiful crushed velvet fabric at my local fabric store and filmed an easy DIY plus a DIY scarf! Click below to watch and don't forget to Like, Comment and Subscribe!
